Welcome back to Bear and her selection for this time: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maya_(illusion). I think the way we perceive things is fascinating. So much of what we think we see is an illusion, but here are just a few examples I have found in music and dance. I hope you enjoy.
Thanks to my daughter, Kate, at Sincerely Kate for her assistance with the musical selections.
Just a Dream (Carrie Underwood)
Virtual Insanity (Jamiroquai)
You’re all the World to Me (Glee)
Amazing Dance a Brain Cannot Process

Just a Dream offers an excellent reason for why War and the Miltary are NOT wonderful things.
Love your dance selections, Deborah.
So true, Eva. And the saddest part of it is that all the reasons and pettiness that lead to these things are all illusion and faulty perceptions. People create reasons for wars, and until they give up the illusions of those reasons, they will keep fighting about their illusions.
I don’t think it’s pettiness that prompts wars but cold, calculated reasoning on the part of people who will NOT be part of the cannon fodder. They manipulate the lesser illusions to suit their quests for power and control. They need to be made redoundant in my mind. Peace
Anyway, Music as Medicine for Thursday 27th Feb 2014.
Thanks, Eva! Just wanted you to know that I’m doing a double teaching load for three weeks while we offer an intensive English program for exchange students visiting from Japan. I hope to join back in soon. Nice theme! I’ll be checking into the posts. 🙂 Hope all is well with you!
Oh you’re busy busy, Deborah. 🙂 No problem. I hope you’ll share your experiences with the Japanese students.

Number one video was amazing. So sad and beautifully done. I’ve never heard this singer before. Lovely.x
Carrie Underwood was one of the early winners of American Idol. This video is indeed very powerful. Thanks for checking it out! 🙂
Love Jamiroquai. Back then, it felt like he’s the only one in pop music with a unique sound.
